Evelyn Pence - Illustrator
How do you measure success?
I think a measure of success is how well a person can turn life’s downturns into wisdom and kindness
How do you waste time most often?
At worst, I waste time with worry and longing.
At best, I waste time drawing and reading.
Do you think the way we dress affects the way we feel?
Without question. Covid was proof of point for me.
Is there something that you’ve dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven’t you done it?
I’ve dreamt of being a better artist. My sort of indefensible excuse is that I was distracted by raising children.
What did your family do on Sundays when you were a little kid?
Mass EVERY Sunday morning with my siblings and parents, and if we were lucky, doughnuts at Herb’s Bakery; then home to change out of dress clothes to be free the rest of the day
What is the perfect date and who should pay?
A long walk– nature, or an urban hike. If he can afford it after, he should buy the drinks.
Draw me your favorite food.
What cross roads are you currently at?
My kids are leaving the nest, and I’m working on a plan for what’s next.
If you could speak to one dead person for 30 seconds who would it be and what would you say?
I’d tell TJ I was dumb to stay angry, and that I’m proud of him.
Where do you think we go when we die ,if anywhere?
I’m pretty confident no one knows the answer to this one; but I don’t think it’s a permanent state, or in other words, we might change again and again after we die.
What keeps you up at night?
Let’s not talk about it. It’s stowed away, and I bring it out when there’s something I can actually do to make it better
What was the last gift you gave, and to whom did you give it?
I just hid a Payday in my aunt’s bed. I think that’s a gift?
