Who was your childhood hero?
I was really into gymnastics when Nadia Comaneci dominated the sport. My dad made me my own practice room in the basement, with a tumbling mat and a balance beam so I could practice at home.I wanted to be just like her. She was just 4 years older than I when she scored the first-ever perfect score of 10.0. She was dynamic and fearless and poised and strong and … perfect. Remember Nadia’s Theme? I think I played that song until the groove wore out.
When are you most comfortable in your own skin?
I’m most comfortable in my own skin at home. I’ve done a lot of moving during my adult life and I’ve learned that the space I create makes me feel safe and held and at ease. Everything feels just as it should be and I like hanging out with myself. People might peg me as an extrovert, but I’m really an introvert.
Cats or Dogs?
Dogs. I’ve had two Jack Russels and the current love of my life is Ruby. She’s a Parsons Russell Terrier who’s trained me to be her human.
What is the first thing you do when you start your work day
I pretty consistently start my day on my meditation cushion. Even if it’s for 5 minutes. I’ve learned that even just a tiny bit of checking in with myself and how I’m feeling or setting an intention for how I’d like showing up that day changes everything for me. And probably for everyone around me.
Super power or spirit animal, which and why?
Spirit animal. So, I had a reliable source tell me my spirit animal is a squirrel. He told me in front of a group and I could feel my face flush because I wanted to be something cool like a jaguar or sexy like a lioness. But then I did a little googling about the squirrel totem animal. It represents rebirth, renewal, energy, positivity, hard work, duty, and balance. Anyone who knows me will agree that’s in alignment with me.Favorite Poem?
